Santorini Wedding at Suites of The Gods
July 1, 2011I love to travel for weddings, I tend to do a few destination weddings every year and Santorini is the first up this year. Most people don’t seem to know where it is, well I can tell you its in Greece! Paul from Roar Photography brought me out shoot his wedding at Suites of The Gods. Such an awesome location, such an awesome wedding. If you’re reading this, and liking this, and plan on getting married out in Greece or anywhere, then get in touch, I’d love to come….

2010 Thank You’s
December 31, 2010So its come to the final day of 2010 and I wanted to put a post up to look back on what has been achieved and also thank a few people aswell.
Things pretty much blew up in 2010, far more than I expected. I only shot my first wedding in the summer of 2009 and if you told me back then that all this would be happening now I probably would have laughed. I spent a year travelling around the country and abroad doing the one thing I’m probably meant to do in life, and that’s telling the story of the biggest day in a couples life. I’ve always said that whilst its not saving people’s lives, it is up there with one of the most amazing things you can do for people.
I’ve made it to the end of 2010 about 60-70 weddings down the line from starting and I’ve still booked every couple I’ve ever met. I know that run will end at some point, but regardless of when it does, it does say to me that what I’m doing is different and that I’m doing it the right way. I’ve also realised this year that my favourite part of a wedding day has gone from being photojournalistic moments, to making quirky portraits. In 2009 all I used to post pretty much was scenes from a story, which I still love, but now you’ll see me post many more portraits of people. I never try to make these the same, I want all my couples to have something which I haven’t taken before.
I got married this year to Nicola, which amazing in itself, has given me a whole new insight into how people feel on their wedding day. So my first and biggest thank you of 2010 goes to my new wife

My Cousin Steve who did our wedding photos Steve Street Photography. I can’t do anymore weddings in 2011, so you should totally check him out!
Kelly @ Boho Weddings & Events – Kelly is probably my biggest fan and a great ambassador for my work! She’s personally responsible for a bunch of people I’ll be working with in 2011
Annabel @ Lovemydress Love My Dress – I think Annabel would blog most of my weddings if she could! Another great ambassador for what I do and her blog is the only place I advertise anywhere
Christian & Erica @ Christian Ward Photography Christian Ward Photography. It cool to do a like minded thing with these guys. We’ve both helped eachother throughout 2010 and long may that continue!
Helen & Paul @ Ph Weddings PH Weddings, another great set of local togs who have sent people my way in 2010 and vice versa
Emma & Vinny @ The Wedding Daze The Wedding Daze It was great to shoot their wedding this year, amazing wedding planners and people
And other togs around the country who I know have sent people my way and vice versa are
Albert Palmer Albert Palmer Photography Bristol
CB Media CB Media Birmingham
Emma Case Emma Case Birmingham
Other wedding blogs which have featured my weddings in 2010, for which I am very grateful, include
Rock n Roll Bride Blog
Rock My Wedding Blog
Modern Wedding Ideas Blog
Whimsical Wonderland Weddings Blog
And finally I can’t finish without thanking all the amazing couples who let me share their day in 2010, all the amazing couples who are gonna take me hang out with them in 2011 to make some art. I look forward to the journey and madness that will be 2011. Here are a few preview images from weddings I need to blog in January…

Sheffield band stand wedding
August 30, 2010Abi and Steve got married in a park….how cool is that? Afterwards they walked over to the Dam House, ate food and had a party. I think my favourite moment of shooting their wedding, was Abi thinking that her mum hadn’t shed a tear during the ceremony….well I always tell couples that I see everything, and below is the proof! Abi is wearing a dress by Jenny Packham

Our Wedding Photos!
August 1, 2010On 1st May 2010 Nicola and I got married at Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland. Its peak wedding season, so it may have taken me 3 months to process our photos, but I think they are worth the wait!
Our reception was held and hosted by Jo and David at Budle Hall and we had a stunning Papakata marquee in the grounds. Nicola wore a Jenny Packham dress with Jimmy Choo shoes, and I wore a suit by Reiss. We had a BBQ provided by Delicous Occassions and flowers by Flowers and Foliage.
Now the question I got asked at nearly every client meeting prior to our wedding was “who is going to do your photos?”, well that answer to that is my brilliant cousin Steve Street in Surrey, UK…although I will confess that I couldn’t resist picking up the cam for a few of these shots (not any whilst we were getting married!)
Here is a selection from the day. Finally…
