Marrakech desert wedding

I remember when Mel first got in touch about her wedding, it was a strange time, our son had recently been born, it was the middle of wedding season and sleep was a thing of the past. At that time we were getting up maybe 3 times through the night to do feeds and on the first feed of the night I checked the phone emails, one of which was an enquiry from Mel about shooting her wedding in Marrakech. Blurry-eyed I replied and figured there might be a response the following day. On feed number 2 I checked again, and Mel replied, which I thought was strange as it was around 3am and not the normal time for emailing a photographer about your wedding. It turned out Mel and Nick were from New Zealand, so that explained the time difference. I replied again, still not really having a clue where Marrakech was, I just knew it was regarded as a cool place. By the time of the next 5am wake-up call, things were sorted and I was heading to Marrakech. So yes, it is possible to book a wedding whilst feeding a baby through the night! Forward on a year or so and it was time to meet Mel and Nick. All I knew about the wedding was that it was in the desert and I would meet them at their Riad before hand to take photos around the main square and streets in Marrakech. As always, everything was a surprise and new experience as I avoided looking at any photos of Marrakech beforehand. Thanks to Mel and Nick for inviting me to join them on this experience with just 11 other people, and for inviting Nicola to join the party.
