Rockefeller Centre wedding in New York
September 7, 2015
New York City is my favourite place on Earth. After visiting NYC seven times, you can imagine the excitement when Dan and Rob’s New York City enquiry popped up in my inbox….followed by my disappointment when I realised the date they set had already been booked. Thankfully, we managed to work it out and Dan and Rob moved the wedding so I could shoot it.
Then I got the itinery – Getting ready in the Presidential suite of the historic Waldorf Astoria, a morning ceremony on the roof terrace of The Rockefeller Center, followed by photos at The Top of the Rock, a picnic in Central Park and an evening party on a private boat sailing down the Hudson River, with guest singing sensation Dendyl from The Voice USA.
Two days later we headed out at 5am to shoot some portraits on Brooklyn Bridge. 5am might sound crazy, but if you want good light and a bridge without a million tourists, then an early doors shoot is the way to go
Dan and Rob went epic, pretty much as epic as I guess you could go, and I was fortunate enough to document their day in NYC with an intimate group of 30 family and friends. Hopefully I’ll get to repeat this adventure one day, so if you’re planning a wedding in NYC then don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’ve got the suitcase ready and packed…
Ah, New York! Epic! Incredible work, John!
BLOODY AWESOME!
Ahhh man, this is just plain crazy! Well done mate on truly smashing it out of the central park!!! Sorry, I could not help myself, I’ll get my coat! 😉
Oh Jon these are amazing! X
Wow wow wow, can hardly deal with how amazing this is and how beautifully you have captured it. Especially love the black and white first dance(?) shot.
